TransWorks Announces Commercial Release of Multi-stop Functionality In Supply Chain Execution Solution (FORT WAYNE, Indiana)

Following a significant investment in a customer and market needs assessment along with research and development, TransWorks today announced a major new release of a Shipper Transportation Management Solution (sTMS). The newly released sTMS will enhance TransWorks’ leadership role in the Supply Chain Execution marketplace.

Release 8.2 includes several important improvements, the most prominent of which are robust Multistop (multi-pickup and multi-drop) Rating, Tendering, Exception Management and Freight Payment Capabilities.

Shipment Rating is performed prior to tendering and when any material changes are made to the shipment. Examples of this include the origin departure, addition or removal of a stop by the customer, re-sequencing of stops by the customer, or updates to weight or mileage made by the customer. The cost breakdown of the shipment includes freight, stop-off, fuel and other accessorial charges, which enables greater Freight Payment flexibility. Logistics Managers now have much greater visibility and control of shipments throughout every pickup and drop-off, fostering more powerful Exception Management.

"Release 8.2 further improves TransWorks' lane-based tendering capabilities," said Tim Minnich, President of TransWorks. "Originally released in 2006, the lane-based tendering capability positioned TransWorks as an industry-leading Transportation Management Solution in the SCE marketplace."

TransWorks has been recognized the past two years as a Top 100 solution by Inbound Logistics.
