TransWorks looks for candidates with experience in Informix,
SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, C++, Visual Basic.NET,
C#, AIX/Linux and Java. Knowledge of Transportation and Logistics
is a plus.

Current Positions
TITLE: SOFTWARE ENGINEER
SHIFT: DAYS
FUNCTIONS:
Design, program, test, implement and maintain
systems to meet business needs
Analyze business and/or systems problems
to determine alternative solutions and recommend the
most effective solution
Act as
consultant to company personnel during the development,
maintenance and operation of system applications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Three or more years of software development
experience
Experience
with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, especially Visual
Basic and C++
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
or related field
Additional skills (preferred):
Knowledge of the transportation
industry
Experience with C#
and/or Java beneficial but not required
Microsoft
certification beneficial but not required

TITLE: UNIX/LINUX ADMINISTRATOR/OPERATOR
DEPT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
SHIFT: MULTIPLE / AS NEEDED
FUNCTIONS:
Day to day support of 40 or more AIX & LINUX systems
Support daily
backups and tape rotations
Creating & tracking trouble tickets
Carrying a pager for off hours
problem resolutions
Installing the OS, installing applications,
and maintaining current patches
Report generation
Set up, review, and maintain system monitors
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years, basic experience with AIX and/or LINUX
2-3 years, previous
monitoring and escalation experience a plus
2-3 years, experience
with network backup and recovery strategies
Bachelor of
Science in Computer Science or related field
Flexible Schedule
(weekends, nights)
Must have excellent team working skills
balanced with the ability to work alone
Additional skills
(preferred):
Experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Management
(TSM)
Technical certification and/or degree preferred
1-2 years systems operations or datacenter experience preferred
Ability
to script (shell-scripting, Perl, Expect, etc)
Experience
with use of problem and change management tools
Experience
with Tomcat/Apache setup and sustainment
